Kickapoo Folkart is about crafts from the Kickapoo Valley located in the Ocooch Mountains of Wisconsin. The main artist is Kim Rundle who is a Certified One Stroke Level II Painting Instructor. Kim paints on just about anything and everything from Turkey feathers, and tractor seats, to wood items her husband crafts to the sweetest, most delicious hand painted "edible" sugar cookies. Another artist designs her own unique Macrame jewelry using beads and stones and you will find her works in the Macrame Jewelry section.

Glass that has been heated in a kiln to the point where two separate pieces are permanently joined without losing their individual color. My glass pieces have been fired two to three times. The first firing fuses the pieces of glass together and the second firing is to embed the images into the glass. Sometimes a third firing may be required to "polish" the piece further.

The 'One Stroke' painting technique is sweeping the nation. This is one of the most popular forms of decorative painting for all who want to learn to paint. All the painting is done by myself. I am a Certified Level II One Stroke Painting Instructor and I teach through out the area within 100 miles from my home. Course are taught at local Technical colleges, UW Campuses and at local clubs or in my home.

The gold fired on the jewelry pieces is a 22kt Gold overlay that is fired to 1325 degrees and will not rub off.

Images are Sepia tone and fired permanently onto the glass pieces. The image will not fade or wear off.

The Ocooch Mountains are an area of southwestern Wisconsin that was left untouched during the glaciers of the Ice Age. We are blessed with beautiful high stone ridges and deep lush valleys. The word “Ocooch” translates as “where one goes to get nourishment.” The Ocooch Mountains, it should be noted, aren't mountains at all but rather a region of timber-covered hills, lush valleys and sandstone formations in unglaciated southwestern Wisconsin. The name is said to have come from a small band of Indians called the Ocoche, and Ocooch is generally defined as meaning a place to hunt or fish or find nourishment. Some say the region's boundaries are defined by the Kickapoo River watershed; in rough terms it is the area midway between Madison and La Crosse, stretching from Spring Green on the south to Viroqua on the north, with Richland Center about in the middle. But there is plenty of room for diversity in the Ocooch Mountains, which are still home to many of those 1970s homesteaders who practice organic farming and other arts.

Yes indeed they are..........and oh, so sweet. The cookies are made by myself and I am ServSafe certified and the cookies are made in a licensed and inspected kitchen. I use the finest ingredients including Organic Butter, Real Salt, Flour, sugar, powdered sugar, Organic eggs, and flavorings. I make a homemade sweet butter cream frosting that is then lavished on top of the cookie which is topped off with a homemade Marshmallow fondant which is then painted on with special edible food colorings.
